In the fall of 2000, at the age of 36, Monica Knoll was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her diagnosis and treatment involved taking the gene test and testing positive for the BRAC1 gene, undergoing surgeries, joining a national chemotherapy study, eight rounds of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation. She is also the sister of a 14-year breast cancer survivor and daughter of a father who lost his life to esophageal cancer.
In addition to C101, Monica has been invited to speak several times at St. Vincent’s Comprehensive Cancer Center, NYU Clinical Cancer Center and in Ormylia, Greece. Other breast cancer related endeavors include participating in Lifetime Television’s Women Doc series, an Ortho-Biotech DVD to support patients and a Sanofi-Aventis DVD for the medical community. Ms. Knoll is also a graduate of the Breast Cancer Coalition’s Project Lead 4-day advocacy program.
As a marketing professional, Monica brings 20 years experience managing and executing new concepts and program from start to fruition as well as the development and management of budgets and marketing plans.
